Welcome to my stop in the YAmazing Race with MGnificent Prizes! I am so excited to be participating again. If this is your first time ‘hopping’ — welcome! If you are a seasoned vet, welcome back! And if you don’t know what I am talking about — maybe you popped by here because you know Blind Spot is minutes away from being released and that I’m going on a blog tour soon — lucky you! You stumbled upon a great opp to win some awesome prizes.
What it is: The Apocalypsies (a group of 2012 debut authors) is hosting a blog hop in which you go from one blog to the next, reading about each book, and then at the end of each leg of the race, you answer questions about the books to win some awesome prizes. Details and the race starting line can be found on the Apocalypsies site. The race officially starts at Noon (EST) on October 22, 2012— so if you’re a tad early, just chill a bit 🙂
If the race has already begun, and you’re ready to race on, this is the next stop! Before you leave, be sure to enter your name in my Blind Spot giveaway! You can enter at the bottom of this post.
BLIND SPOT
by Laura Ellen
What you can’t see might be murder.

Winter stops hiding Tricia Farni on Good Friday
When a truck plunges through the thinning ice of Alaska’s Birch River, Tricia’s body floats to the surface– dead since the night she disappeared six months earlier.
The night Roswell Hart fought with her.
The night Roz can’t remember.
Missing things is nothing new to sixteen-year-old Roz. She has macular degeneration, an eye disease that robs her central vision. She’s constantly piecing together what she sees– or thinks she sees–but this time her memory needs piecing together. How can Roz be sure of the truth if her own memory has betrayed her? Can she clear her name of a murder that she believes she didn’t commit?
— Blind Spot releases this week (Tuesday, 10/23) from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Wow, I love the premise of this book, very intriguing! Thanks for the giveaway.
thanks for the giveaway 🙂
You’re welcome, good luck 🙂
This looks like a good book. I have blind spots too so now I feel like I am being excitingly represented!
🙂 Thanks Audrey!
On this post http://www.authorsarerockstars.com/2012/10/laura-ellen-blog-tour.html Laura was interviewed at the conference, and she talked about what attracted her to the thriller genre, including Nancy Drew. She also told us she grew up in Alaska, which is where the book is set, and she did lots of creepy stuff to entertain and scare her sister.
Also, it’s so brave of Laura to talk about macular degeneration since it affects her. Interesting how she had to pull back to let her main character tell her own story.
Thankyou Christina!
I loved the podcast with Authors are ROCKSTARS! I was crazy about Mary Higgins Clark books when I was a young adult. I also think hearing about author process is fascinating. And I could not deal with -60 degrees weather; I thought Iowa was cold in the winter…but we get down to maybe -10 or -15 with the wind chill. I would probably freeze to death in an Alaskan winter!
And I had a lot of fun picking out my “dream cast” at Xpresso Reads. 🙂
So glad you enjoyed the dream cast picking and the podcast — yeah -60 is cold — it was 52 this morning (I live in AZ now) and I thought that was cold! I guess it’s all relative 🙂
I just saw your book on Alice Marvels this week and instantly read it to my Plans to Read list on Shelfari. I can’t wait!
This is great. I love this race. My girls are getting a chance to read about a whole new group of authors and their books. What a fabulous idea!
